Carl Abraitis (Operations Director, Torrent Trackside) and Ross Dickinson (Regional Account Manager, Torrent Trackside) along with other colleagues from Vp supported the Flyde Sand Dunes restoration project back in February 2023. Below is the long anticipated report from the field with additional follow up observations.
It was a very blustery day at the Coast, nevertheless it was extremely well supported by all the volunteers who got into action very quickly, initially carrying all the used Christmas trees up the beach to their final resting places.
It was then a case of planting the trees at 45 degree angles into trenches dug out by a number of excavators and back-filling the trenches with sand. It was a very challenging, but a worthwhile effort enjoyed by everyone involved.
Carl has since been back to the site of this sand dune restoration work to look at the results of everyone’s labours and can 100% confirm that it has made a great contribution to the restoration of the Sand Dunes here at Lytham as well as other locations on the Flyde Coast and at Formby, near Southport.
Here’s to utilising next year’s Christmas tree’s for a worthy cause.
